I pray to sleep every night

And hope to God you hear me,

Wrapped in rosary,

Drenched in kisses from

Everyone except you.

We read our bibles at night

And discover magic between the lines,

We discover power under our blankets,

We discover vulnerability

In interlocked fingers.

We sing hymnals in our heavy sighs,

Feeling God every time we touch.

Saturday turns to Sunday

And in the glow of a sunrise

Peaking between the creamy curtains,

Our soft bodies come alive with the spirit.

Everything is easier.

Everything is holy.
